I was reorganizing my bathroom today, and as I was putting things away I noticed I only left out four products for display. The first thing that went through my head was “is there something wrong with me?” :). I came to the conclusion that even though I have tons of beauty products right now I have an obsession with just these four products. So I’m going to share them with you today Enjoy.
1. John Frieda Sheer Blonde Shampoo & Conditioner
Why do I love it: Ever since I decided to get Blonde Low Lights my hair has never looked better. When my hair stylist advised me that I would now have to use shampoo for blonde hair I felt a pit in my stomach, only because I’ve never had to use a shampoo for color in my life. After weeks of searching “high-end” shampoos thinking that would be the best way to go. I ran across the Sheer Blonde line. It got amazing reviews and the price wasn’t bad (6.99) each. I went to my local CVS and purchased them I also had a coupon so they came out to be $10.00 for both, what a steal. I figured since they didn’t cost me so much if I wasn’t in love with them it wouldn’t have been a waste. Well this product proved me wrong. This duo is great smelling with hints of Sunflower and White Tea. It also leaves my scalp feeling fresh and clean, and no buildup. My Highlights tend to get very dull when dirty, even turning a brassy orange. After I use this shampoo my blonde brightens up, like the first day out of the salon. I recommend this product to any of my blondes out there. 🙂
2. Eau Thermale Avene Body Lotion with Cold Cream
Why do I love it: I was first introduced to the European line of Avene when I used to work for Duane Reed in NYC. I used to sell this product and I completely fell in love with this line. Avene Body Lotion stands out to me because it incorporates the nourishing benefits of a traditional cold cream and mixes it with regular lotion. As cold cream tends to be extra heavy due to the fact that they are for people with very dry skin AKA me, it always tends to leave you very greasy at the end of using them. Avene formulated a way where you still get that thick coverage but don’t get that greasy aftermath. This lotion completely coats you and leaves you feeling smooth with just a pump the size of a nickel. This lotion smells amazing it incorporates hints of oatmeal. It truly smells like a spa in a bottle. I recommend this to everyone and, especially my dry skin people out there. 🙂
3. Aveda Tourmaline Charged Exfoliating cleanser
Why do I love it: I am a huge Aveda fan, of course its my Alma Mater ;). I began using this cleanser when I was in esthetics school; my skin is generally clear but I tend to get congested with some black heads (EWW) in my nose occasionally. I’ve tried many cleansers in my day and couldn’t find one that would remove the extra dead skin off my face. I noticed they were just giving me an outside glow but not really getting into the root of my problems. This cleanser gently removes impurities and skin dulling surface cells, and also tackles black heads for easier removal. The scent is nothing short of amazing, mostly because of the jojoba exfoliation beads. I recommend this to anyone, especially those who are looking for a more natural alternative, or someone who just wants their skin to glow.
4. Rimmel Scandal Eyes Mascara
Why do I love it: I first picked up this mascara at CVS because of the price ($2.86), and I thought “why not? let’s try it!” I was very surprised after the first coat of it. It fully does coat my lashes and makes them darker instantly. Although I’m very satisfied with my purchase, I can see that there are better alternatives out there. Why did I add this to my favorite four? Because it does its job, it fans out my lashes, and makes my eyes brighter and more noticeable. It has a great brush, and what girl doesn’t love that? It may not be a serial clumper, but it may very well be its cousin. I recommend this as an inexpensive alternative to anyone who’s looking for a decent mascara who gets the job done fast.
