Hello friends!
Happy New Year Everyone! A couple of weeks ago I celebrated the big 30! Being the travel addict that I am I decided that I wanted to go big to celebrate this milestone. I chose Thailand, not for the many Instagram posts floating around (though they are dreamy), but because I’ve always been fascinated with Thai culture. So the hubs and I jumped on a plane and set off for the adventure of a lifetime.
We started our trip in Bangkok because we were excited to see this bustling city in all its glory. While there we had a jam-packed schedule filled with an array of activities. From being brave and jumping on public transportation, water taxis, and trains, to visiting a famous street market where we sampled some street food and got lost for hours. We also couldn’t leave Bangkok without taking a full day tour to see the famous temples ( which were magical) and really learn about Buddhism. There was never a time of day or night where we weren’t enjoying this vibrant city to the fullest.
Now we were off to second part of our trip, Phuket! We boarded our one hour flight and shortly after we reached paradise! The agenda for Phuket was the complete opposite of Bangkok. I wanted to just relax on this portion of our trip and celebrate my birthday luxury style. We did go out for a full day excursion to the Phi- Phi islands, which by far has to be the most beautiful place I’ve ever been in life! On our excursion, we snorkeled in gorgeous lagoons, saw monkeys on the beach, and swam in the clearest water I’ve ever seen. We also checked out famous Patong beach and enjoyed the whimsical of it all, from my fish pedicure to the latin stripper bar we stumbled upon. We have seen some things that will have us talking for years to come.
As an added bonus on our way home, we decided to stop by and see Dubai! We decided to take a nighttime tour of the city. We got to see some of the tallest buildings in the world, and just take in all grandeur this city provides.
All in all, I have to say a piece of my heart was left in each city I went to. Thailand was a dream come true, the people and the culture made for an adventure of a lifetime!
Below are some pictures from our vacation enjoy!
